Penryn will face another stern test to maintain their unbeaten record in the Cornwall/Devon League this season as they welcome Duchy rivals Bude to The Memorial Ground on Saturday at 3pm.
Bude can consider themselves unlucky to have been relegated from Western Counties West at the end of last season having won a game more than Burnham-on-Sea, who finished above them but it was a lack of bonus points gained (just three) that ultimately proved their undoing.
Bude will be determined to test Penryn as much as Wessex did last week when the Exeter based side held Borough to a 24-24 draw. Since their return to the Cornwall/Devon League, our opponents on Saturday have won both their home games (36-0 v Hayle and 29-12 against Lanner) but lost their two road trips - 35-11 at leaders Honiton and 36-5 at Withycombe. The North Cornwall side will be motivated to break their away day duck for this season, particularly with it being against an unbeaten fellow Cornish side.
The Saracens, Colts and Ladies are without a game this weekend, but there is plenty of action on Sunday. The U16s travel up to Newquay to take on the Hornets and Penzance & Newlyn in a three way competition, and we look forward to hearing how Jamie Truen's boys get on! A mixed Falmouth and Penryn U15s squad take on Wadebridge Camels U15s at Falmouth RFC in a game which will kick-off at 11am. At the time of writing the U14s are without a fixture, if one can be arranged over the coming 24 hours or so, we will inform one and all here. The U13s will be looking to continue their brilliant start to the season when they host Wadebridge Camels, with the match kicking off at 10:30am. The U12s are away in Land Rover Cup action, with the U11s training at home. The U10s and U9s have their Education Day at Truro starting at 1:30pm and 10am respectively. The U6s, U7s and U8s are training at The Memorial Ground at the regular time.
We look forward to hearing how everyone got on.
Chons da to all Borough sides in action this weekend.
