Huge Pride In Under 16s Achievement

6 months ago By Ben Gilby

Four of the eleven Cornish boys selected for Exeter Chiefs U16s Academy are from Penryn's U16 team!

The Exeter U16's Academy squad has been announced for the 2017-18 season.  The initial 40 man squad was selected from the Development Player Pathway centres in both Cornwall (80 players) and Devon (200 players).

Penryn are proud to announce that 4 of the 11 Cornish lads selected for the squad are members of their U16's team.

Centre/Wing Charlie Levick retains his place in this years squad, he is now joined by back row Ollie Foreman, scrum Half Joe Tanswell and wing Zane Goodwin.

U16s coach Jamie Truen, who has worked with the boys for many years now, spoke of his immense pride: "I would like to say how proud we are of the lads and all the team, and what fine young men they have become on and off the pitch."

This is a magnificent achievement by the boys and also for the coaches at our club who have guided them since they first pulled on a Penryn shirt. We are so proud of you all.
