“Girls, the whole of Penryn RFC is very proud of you.”
A massive well done to the Penryn Girls that attended the Cornwall County trials on Sunday 1st October at Newquay Hornets RFC.
The trial started with an intense warm up and then into some decision making games focused on handling. The players where then put into narrow, channelled pitches where coaches could take a look at the tackle, ruck and maul in attack and organization in defence. The girls were then thrown into a game with the chance to shine with all their skills and determination on show.
We are delighted to announce that following the trials, Penryn girls Florence Bawden and Bethany Williams have been selected for the under 15 Cornwall squad and Chelsi Mitchell, Danielle Cardnell, Sky Jackson, Zoe Pixton, Mia Abbott-Smith and Soph Hall have been selected as part of the under 18 Cornwall squad. Well done girls, you have worked hard and this is well deserved.
The first squad training session is due to take place at Bodmin RFC on Friday 6th October, 7pm until 9pm.
Girls, the whole of Penryn RFC is very proud of you.
